Today I Sing

I sing because I have changed up my day. I laugh because I am a different woman. Every day was the same, monotonous. Every day, a pattern of lethargic resign-ment-of-sameness. Making me feel dull. Irritated me. Not today. I changed it all up. Today I am happy! Today I am powerful. Today I am new. Today I sing!

Thank you. I truly was proud of myself yesterday. It started with me TALKING sternly to MYSELF and making me go to the beauty shop - a place I had been resisting for so many weeks, my hair is skunk-like - white streaks in black fur - and MAKING myself get a haircut. While waiting, I actually wrote 15 poems, so not a total waste of time. Putting me in a joyful mood, and then the universe started throwing all my favorite things my way - one granddaughter texted me, and three visited. One spent the night! A terrific day!
