To Bee Or Not To Bee

Once there was a haughty queen who decided to spend more time on her own: here, there, she flew everywhere followed by a lovesick drone -- She said: "little man, you're not in my plan...please find a poem all your own!" Himself, no good at gathering nectar...after thought said, "The heck with her!" Wasting no time, instead of wallowing in self-pity, moved to the big city, wrote a book on Hive Theory: how drones are mere sex objects, sleepless, eyes bleary With profits from his book, opened a bank offering no penalty early liquidity -- finally, some respect for drones, bee dandies feeling hopeless and weary. Up till then having little other choice but to serve the whims of Her majesty, often royally finicky, they began investing their nest-eggs of sweets for retirement in our protagonist's very successful, totally liberating, high dividend paying -- novel Savings And Drone.

I love your whimsy story. He sounds like a toxic drone, pun intended. This poem made me laugh and think.

Laugh is good -- but please don't think too deeply, written all in fun.

This is so humorous! Gave the chance for a good laugh this morning. The structural pattern of beehive, I totally disapprove. Some are a group of lazy lot while some keep working day in and out. One reigns as queen. It is always advisable not to wallow in self pity, but do something constructive. Though late, wisdom came to the drone at last! :)

Lol. Hi Joe. A joy not bee-ing bee-reft by politics for a short spell, see how sweet my poetry has become! My hive of thought raided by nonsense. Oh to be a bee on the walls of buzzing Deep State ... I would not live long if discovered~ Bee Jam for sure. Not much left of a stinger in this old winger.

Ha! You have a wonderful sense of humour and as always Your poem is a masterful blend of whimsy and satire, turning the dynamics of the hive into a playful yet profound story of self-discovery and empowerment. The haughty queen and the lovesick drone serve as humorous archetypes, but they also reflect universal themes of independence, rejection, and finding one’s purpose.

Hi Si; thank you. You know, it was just a fun write -- I spent a lot of time fine-tuning with editing, as I hope is usual for all of us, but I did not analyze the meaning. As I read your assessment, you are spot on. Blessings my friend.
