Thoughts From a Turtle
Time for me is measured not in minutes or days,
but distance
I claim nothing more than the shell where I sleep
Nor do I seek power, or have forethought,
as I am only here to move on, to fill a void,
to be part of the cycle of life, obtaining nothing
To procreate and eat enough to sustain life,
my only desire
This too is just done, never planned
I ask nothing from the world,
but enough distance to cover in a lifetime
To be invisible to all but my needs
To be at peace
Isn't that enough?
