Thinking Outside the Bag

Maybe every god is real
   Story a necessity
   However it began
It was all about the end
   If you don't believe me
   Fact of the matter is
A bag of matter wrote this

Hi, You took an idea that has been used to the point of overuse and put your original spin on it. Love it. - Gail

Thanks for digging up my old haiku, by the way ... much appreciated (not everything I write is long-winded ... hahaha).

INTRIGUING ... and yes it's true ... Personally, I think it's baffling that we are all just staring at black, weird little shapes when we read poetry (and yet tremendous images pop into our head at an instant). It doesn't seem mere matter is capable of such a feat ... and yet here we are.

Thank you Alex! I haven't seen that in forever, I should look for it. This, while probably brewing since I saw that as a kid, was triggered by theoretical physicist Brian Greene's calling himself "a bag of particles" ;), "Carbon based life form" is ringing a bell too...

Shalom, shalOM Mo. U have a beautiful mind. Of course, you are more than the "bag" (Matter of fact, in each bag, the BREATH is a WIND or Breath & BREADTH of the Universe.) Even the MIND is more than MATTER! Thanks DEar.

Thank you so much Anil! We are star dust, and then some. I was not sure how much of an audience would greet this piece, you have made my day my friend. I like that "breadth of the universe". Poetry hugs! xomo

' however it began/it was all about the end' - That line really got my attention, I think, whatever you believe, it's about finding the meaningful in the mystery of 'the end' - simply fascinating, Maureen!

Makes me think of Star Trek. The aliens called us humans “Ugly bags of water”. The thing about God is that our belief in Him has no bearing on His existence. That however cannot be said of other gods.

Star Trek was definitely formative in my education and upbringing. Live long and prosper my friend, xomo
