Therein Madness Lies

Trust and paranoia Go hand slip hand Beneath the surface Or on the face of it To give trust means You give something away That passes from Mouth to mouth But does not Resuscitate Paranoia Takes the air From your lungs Sets you in a spin To cast the world away That may or may not Have traded you For gossip Either way You might Suffocate But trusting Feels Good Til it Flits past your eyes Casting shadows Now there's a cranefly at my window Coincidence? Yes Let's not get overexcited A bit of gossip Can be juicy And some people Might suck the meat off your bones But they remain hungry So will feast elsewhere Soon enough

Trust, once broken is difficult to regain. I’ve no use for those who spread gossip, thinking it’s a juicy tidbit to share. They can try to suck our bones but we can escape their jaws by walking away. They will find themselves caught in a snare of their own making when one day they become the feast sucked by another. Get a fly swatter, Dilly.

I'll put it down to being overtired Lin, I let the crane fly find it's own way out too.

I know you don't like me but I'm a bit like a moth to a flame when it comes to your poetry. I find some of your writes fascinating, as I do this one. Gossipers and slanderers are like Sheol, never full, never sated, always hungry for more

Ahh just call it banter... I'm not very dedicated when it comes to disliking people anyway. I think I just replied once when in a mood. Thanks for your comment
