There Are Remnants
There are remnants of what used to be
still residing within
The storms that churn through emotional seas
leave scars where the waves had been
But
what
was
lost
Will never return, yet for this the soul still yearns
but to the wind they're tossed
Those we loved and once held dear
have gone to slumber's peace
And fragments of our
hopes
and
fears
to the heavens are released
All the little pieces that once made us whole
have scattered
far
and
wide
But now and then on memories they ride
And rise from deep within the soul
