The Winter of My Reckoning

I went for a walk today, it had snowed last night, I was cold, but I did not care. A freshness stirred the crisp air, I tightened my scarf around my thoughts, As I listened to the rhytmic crunching, beneath my feet. Towards the end of my long and cold walk, I looked back feeling warmer, I noticed my muddy boot prints had been covered over by clean, fresh, falling snow. This reminded me that the steps I took today, are far more important, than the ones, I had left behind, from yesterday. I then smiled, while unwrapping my scarf, a little looser, from my thoughts. I had listened to every new step, that my old boots had made, while thinking to myself, that God was good, and he always shows us the way.
