My mind perceives a wall so high
to scale is just a dream.
A barrier beyond the sky
transcending wanted themes.
What material is used to build
such a structure to detour?
How strong a mortar keeps passion stilled
and secrets held secure?
I've tried in vain so many times
to climb this lofty height.
What is due from me for crimes
held sway from freedoms light?
Perhaps my will has dried this brick
and hardened plastered clay
to build this wall so tall and thick
that stands in my own way.
