The Velvet Night

Oh, I cherish the night, the warm embrace of twilight; sultry curling fingers soothing, wrap and hold me tight. I feel sheltered and safe, within the velvet deepness; I welcome the quietness, the silence and peace of night. I want to dwell in the ebony, still, serene and tranquil; let me drift in peacefulness, oh, I cherish the dark. _________________________ November 10, 2012 Poetry/Verse/The Velvety Night Copyright Protected, ID 11-435-860-10 All Rights Reserved, 2012, Constance La France Submitted to the Standard Contest #485 Sponsor, Brian Strand, Judged 2018 First Place

The night has its own mystique to it, a beauty all on itself! I too enjoy the countryside night, there are the nocturnal animals that move about and even the crickets rest as I do! You have masterfully written a spectacular poem here! I really enjoyed reading this incredible and wondrous piece this evening! What a fantastic write, Great Work!!
