The Velvet Night
Oh, I cherish the night,
the warm embrace of twilight;
sultry curling fingers soothing,
wrap and hold me tight.
I feel sheltered and safe,
within the velvet deepness;
I welcome the quietness,
the silence and peace of night.
I want to dwell in the ebony,
still, serene and tranquil;
let me drift in peacefulness,
oh, I cherish the dark.
