The Unpalatable Coconut

I’m nuts about cocoa, but not about coconuts.
I much prefer honey roasted walnuts.
Don’t get me wrong.
Coconuts are lovely hanging from a palm.
I delight in the coconut flavor, especially in my occasional pina colada.
Those I often drink while eating a cheese enchilada.
Of course, there’s nothing better than the smell of coconut oil.
It smells much better than the fragrance of Pennzoil.
But I’ve not found any virtue in consuming coconut oil.
Eating it makes my intestines gurgle and coil.
As for those coconut flakes, don’t even put them in pies, cookies, or cakes.
They twist and turn in my mouth and give me quite a belly ache.
I hereby confess. Pecans, cashews, and almonds are my favorite nuts.
So please don’t ever ask me to eat any coconuts.
