The time between seasons are pauses,
life's twists and turns the causes;
the seasons are steps forward,
and I must be heading nor'ward.
The journey and map erratic,
sometimes the season is dramatic;
and sometimes charismatic,
but of course- there are days pragmatic.
As Fall leaves float- my mind will drift,
walking a cemetery path the wind is swift;
my tears falling and my head . . . I lift,
grief and sadness I must send adrift.
I am a child of winter- a child of cold,
and I keep words frozen and untold;
the end of life is just a threshold,
but . . . to this world I tightly hold.
Memories . . . reappear and change,
the pauses and season rearrange;
my life's journey has been- strange,
where good and bad always interchange.
The time between seasons are pauses,
life's twists and turns the causes;
the seasons are steps forward,
and I must be heading nor'ward.
