The Starry Night
Under the starry sky, she lies
Her thoughts rummaging through her dreams
Often forgotten and unseen.
She drifts through a heavy fog;
A fog that clouds her mind.
Trying to comprehend the darkness,
Yearning to make sense.
The numbness of the fog creeps in.
She struggles to hold on
To her memories.
But her foolish heart doesn't understand.
With all her might,
She clings to false hopes;
False hopes to relive those days.
It gets fainter,
The echoes of the past.
The serene numbness takes over.
She gives in, at last...
