The Squirrel and Maggie

The squirrels and Maggie Do not get along Onto the large deck Walnuts and peanuts Are thrown out to feed The blue-jays and red-jays They eat the walnuts Black ,red, grey, squirrels Maggie don't mind the birds When she see the squirrels She barks, barks, barks Clawing the back door She barks ,wines, stretch Wanting to be out We keep her inside So the squirrels can eat It is hard for them At this time of year To search for their food I feed them peanuts

Hi Darlene, we have a large garden and three labradors and unfortunately and sad to say, I find pigeon feathers all over our garden - cannot contain them! Loved your poem - maybe Maggie could come visit and teach our Labs. a thing or two! Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

Hello Jan, the squirrels are always looking for food this time of year. So we feed them. The dog never goes out when the squirrels feed. Have a nice day my friend. Thank you for the lovely comment.
