The Soul

I've heard speak of
the soul...when it enters
and when it leaves -- yet,
no one has ever captured
one;

a soul indigenous
or a soul on the loose~
in transit, between host
and higher sky, a soul
no longer stationary, now
on the spiritual fly...

in fact, were it not for Blind
Faith, we would not even
guess to know, faith thus far
Soul's only visible show --

So, unlike the stream's winding
unwinding flow

like seasons that come and seasonally
go; known by their optical features,
scents, sounds as have all physical
creatures...even our beloved Christ
seen as the image of man, while view
of the essence soul seemed not part of
Divine Plan

One could then, perhaps say

that the man and the ethereal
are one in the same?

inseparably the same-same
as one

then I would say, could be
all the same game, the Fetus
from the get-go, already bearing
a living name....

Only through Faith, we can see and feel God. So is soul. Both are not tangible realities. But I experience God and the spark in Him, we call soul. I hope I can continue in this faith till the end. Ideas differ from person to person as each one of us has unique identity.

Hi Valsa; very well put. You experience God as a spark in Him...I like that very much. Have a great day my friend.

Not suggesting that there is no right and wrong. But why must it always be your right and my wrong? So fixed in our beliefs, Is there no place of doubt where the two of us can reside peacefully, amiably?

Not sure who's being debated here but I'll only say this: I believe what Jesus believes - John chapter 11, especially vss. 11-14; 43,44

Just saying, just promoting conversation: From the onset, I know nothing other than, God exists, I conclude from this feeling I have of a personal, conscious relationship. Even at some point in time, if these miracles I have seen are explained by science...who is to say God is not also science -- His Science we discover? Only asking, if we have no individualized soul (soul, spirit, essence) what is put to sleep, and where does this place in metaphysical space and time (of being while not being) "exist"? And why can there not be Universal and Individualized soul (the bible not wrong)? With man it is either up or down, when with God it could be up, down, in and out, all at the same time. A God of all places and times simultaneously. Omnipotent? Who here has not examined a speck of dust. A lot of life going on, all that will eventually take on new form -- intelligent life -- every particle knowing how to be what it is. Seeming to know of infinite new potentials for each?

Interesting Joe. I say this with agape, the inherent immortality of the human soul is an expanded version of the first lie ever told - Genesis 3:4; Revelation 12:9. Through religion, philosophy, the entertainment world etal, Satan has promoted the lie that when you die you don't really die but some part of you lives on. Whether you call it a soul, spirit, neural energy, life force etc. the gist is the same. When we die we go to sleep. The hope for the dead is a resurrection

Or a restoration to renewed life. There are no mysteries concerning the soul. In the original Hebrew nephesh (soul) simply meant breath of life, the living being. We don't have a soul - we ARE souls

I enjoyed reading your sad yet powerful "The Soul" write with a great ending. I watched my uncle die but did not see his soul leave. Maybe it is just between the person & God. Have a blessed day as you write away..................

Beautiful poetry JOe. How mystical life is, I love life, my daughter's life. All souls are in God's hands and grace. If you had to choose, would it be your daughter or her fetus? Today there is NO choice. This may only apply if you have a daughter, but nevertheless, I do! God bless the child And its Mother.

Never an easy choice -- would be the daughter. Most law enforcement agents do not like taking a life. Not too many soldiers enjoy killing...I would do most anything to protect my family. It is still murder. Must be a better way. There are better ways...it is up to us to change.
