The Scent Of Spring
The tell-tale scent of Spring sweetens the air,
when the rivers and lakes no longer freeze;
and a gilded sun melts away despair.
While Winter's duvet, sullied and threadbare,
gets replaced by budding bushes and trees;
the tell-tale scent of Spring sweetens the air.
Wildflowers blossom with color and flare;
earthy aromas perfume every breeze,
and a gilded sun melts away despair.
Green patches are sprouting up everywhere;
and as saplings slowly unfold their leaves,
the tell-tale scent of Spring sweetens the air.
Daffodils start popping up here and there
gambling that Spring's arrival's not a tease,
and a gilded sun melts away despair.
A treat for the senses, fragrant and rare,
one whiff and your tensions begin to ease.
The tell-tale scent of Spring sweetens the air,
and a gilded sun melts away despair.
