The Ruby Rose - Typo Fixed
The ruby rose that I once knew
was graceful, mild, and oh so sweet.
I put down roots near her and grew
to understand she was discreet.
Though in her garden all seems well,
the ruby rose that I once knew
has secrets that she hates to tell.
Her lovely petals hide what’s true.
I learned too well what would ensue
when one disturbs her garden’s bed.
The ruby rose that I once knew
took wrong one simple thing I said.
I got too close to what she’d hid.
Revealing thorns, she pierced me through
and all for nothing wrong I did!!
The ruby rose that once I knew.
