The River's Edge

At river's edge, cool waters wink My sadness wanes, my worries shrink The water hears, my poem penned The banks do soothe, my spirit mends Should I be found, I dare not think At river's edge To her bottom, all troubles sink In my heart, indelible ink Birds overhead, a song to lend At river's edge At her broad mouth are shades of pink In pastel sky, at sunset's brink on whispering wind, dreams ascend and flights of love as day commends My thirst is quenched with one last drink At river's edge

Good example of a rondeau. Good descriptiveness and rhyming here.

Thanks! My first rondeau. I was afraid I didn't do it right. But I like the form.
