The Rapids

We fought to keep our craft on course, The river raged in protest and in vain; We fought against the pull of nature’s force And turned our tiny boat towards home again; We laughed at death; when saved you can pretend. It was a moment to remember; time stood still. It was a moment to remember, and I will.

The sense of fear and end can be like an negative thrill. Both occasions get the adrenalin going, for different results. Cracking Rhyme Royal Deb....James :)

As the waves toss your small boat, keep hope alive, Deb. This reminds me of an old song by Don McLain. He sang about how he has lost his course and his companion in the water's (life's) turmoil. Excellent poem! Love, Carolyn

You know a friend of mine went rafting once. Fell out and a swirl washed him under a slight overhang and the water pinned him there. The lead man or whatever he is called stuck an oar down to him and he grabbed it. Close call.
