The Pesky Mole
Sometimes classified as a beauty mark,
the mole when round and small and dark
can be a very charming thing,
unless growing into uneven ring.
It could then be not so benign.
Hie to your doctor at this first sign.
(I edit my poem with heavy sigh.
Spell check doesn't like my hie.
It wants to change it into hue.)
A mole can change its color too.
When a mole alters in any way
call your doctor that very day.
He'll want to see it, I've no doubt
to find what the change is all about.
To body moles, I am no stranger.
Most of them pose little danger.
I have one high on my right arm.
It's pale and large without much charm.
I can't remember never having it.
If it were gone I'm sure I'd miss it.
If ugly warts plagued only witches,
then you could laugh 'til you're in stitches.
Kindly folks have these moles too
and laughing is not the thing to do.
I knew a lady with one on her nose.
They were on her fingesr and on her toes.
As each appeared, she'd laugh about it
but I know she'd rather have done without it.
When a few good things become too many
most of us would like to not have any.
