The Perfect Moment
I was very young, when without my will,
There came a moment when time stood still,
An instance of awe I cannot explain
Imprinted still on my heart and brain.
No outward portent of this sudden bliss,
No special event to remember this,
Yet through the passing of many years,
I've recalled that feeling to calm my fears.
I was aware without knowing why,
Something wonderful had just passed by.
Was I softly brushed by an angel's wing,
To feel so content in all of my being?
I told not a soul what happened that day
For I knew no words that would clearly say
The wonder it brought when it quietly came
That perfect moment that had no name.
