My Warrior

He has a unique relationship with every tree, watching them sway gently in the cool October breezes like a dance, whispering secrets to him that cannot be described in the language of words, their red and gold leaves swirling and twirling around him like tiny magical fairies. This is the mystical side of my warrior. By: Carole O'Terry Duet Copyright: 2017 "All Rights Reserved"

Well Robert, my great grandmother was Cherokee who was married to my red-headed Irish great grandfather. So, yes, there is an inherent love of nature and poetry in me. I'm so glad you liked the poem whose inspiration was someone I used to know who also has the heart of a warrior and who also loves the American Indian culture.

Oh I absolutely love this short poetic description of a warrior. This reminds me of my 'Night Lady' poem except much more passion with the imagery and fairies. Amazing poem!

Thank you, Andrea. And, I'm not going off messenger. I just thought people would like to know that "privacy" on messenger is mute. But, I don't have anything to hide...at least not so far. lol

lol! Sorry Carole, I was going to say trees at first, but then I read your poem again and thought.., wind, I guess because of the first line, where you say; 'He had a unique relationship with every tree', that line really impressed me! But i noticed now that this is for a contest, so trees makes total sense.

Thank you, Susan, but it was supposed to be a personification of the trees but... it could be the wind too.
