My wife and I proud of our luscious lawn, Some mischievous children took a shortcut Strode on the grass, each like an evil fawn, We old couple could not the passage shut. No doubt, we were thoroughly angry mad. How dare these unruly brats spoil our grass? For soon after school these young became bad, Their footprints left an ugly midway pass. Could we elders change to enjoy our green? We filled the path with tiles, planted flowers. Surely the verdant lawn would now look clean, Bought a new bench where we could rest for hours. The children grateful soon became our friends, They ran errands for us to make amends. The reference to my wife is fiction.

So, your act of paving the path with tiles and planting flowers on either side did wonderful things- made your lawn look brighter, made the children happier and turned your enemies into friends. See how some small changes in attitude brings wonderful changes. Your beautiful poem is an example.

Good idea about making a footpath to go where the students were walking. I hope you keep on enjoying them coming through your shortcut to their home. Thanks for sharing and for dropping by my page. Sara

Children, just when you think you've got them trained, they grow up and bring their own children back.

They did reciprocate. Life is a wonderful exchange of give and take. Lovely example, Victor.

- Times are changing...when I was a child we never went on the neighbor's property...today completely different...children are raised free - Nice that you became "friends" and the garden became beautiful again - A lovely poem, Victor - Have a nice day :)
