The Night Sky - 2
High above my thoughts and form
There breathes a light so beautiful
It strongly resembles a giant pearl
Hung in the night by threads of hope
Whispering effortlessly across the sky
Echoing pleasure through the heart
It reflects all the kindness I have sought
As my soul prays for a touch from God
God who knows that I need His love
Much more than I need this world
Or anything that man might conceive of
Piercing the darkness with intense twinkling
There lives small reflections of love’s gentleness
Dangling on hidden gossamers shadowed by night
Tossed on the sky like small enchanting flickers
Flames of inspiration stabbing the black nocturnal
Reaching beyond the darkness toward the birth
Of a passionate sun who needs only to come undone
With its vibrant passion, its roar of creativeness
Stars shimmering down to join the moon in worship
I linger in the obscurity of a night sky
Reflecting on the emotions, both powerful
And stirring – brought to the surface
Of a darkness who remembers only to feel
The ebb and flow of a sensitivity colored
In hues of sincerity, shadowed by tears
Who seems to pray for only one more glimpse of
The kindness bestowed on an empty planet
By the loving Father who created this tenderness
Moon and stars who mirror the sun’s hope
And shine through the evening, soothing and gentle
Praising a Creator who gave them their time
To whisper their charms on the skies, the atmosphere
Through the world who knows only that God is alive
Breathing His music through the night skies.
