Inspired by The Lovers (IV), 1928
By René Magritte
Lost in a moment
Unconcerned by all I don't know
There is no embrace, though there is connection
The sharp angles align to place a single kiss
In a dreamscape that is simply surreal
The surrounding rocks and mountains fade away
Held in a spotlight as a vision of beauty
I hold myself close, recline into this reality
Shrouded in red for danger
You and I ghostly pale
On waking, I'm unclear where I reside or rest
I feel cold, perhaps I am fashioned of quartz
Made to forever slumber amid the mountain mist
A deal made for a solitary kiss
