This poem was supposed to have some humour, It did not turn out as expected.
Last December, I had my birthday celebration,
It was so much fun that I forgot to use my walking cane,
At the end, all the leftover food must be dumped,
Even cake and sweets must be parted with pain.
Next morning, I must return the hall keys,
I looked in the drawer where I put my keys,
Looked inside and outside the car for any clue,
There was no clue for the missing key.
I called hall in charge,
She said there is $1000 penalty for lost keys,
I would go to other functions in night,
And ask if anyone had the hall keys in sight.
With the key lost, all the sweet memories were turning sour,
I emailed all the participants if they had an extra key,
No one replied, I was planning to get a loan to pay the fine,
When I was ready to go out, I saw something under a standing lamp,
Its brass base was like the color of key,
The key was there, hoping someone would find it there.
