Michelle, love your wordplay in the title, not to mention your usual array of delectable phrasing ("fair freckled sky" and "sticky glazed humidity" to name two favorites). Yes, eventually the heat wears us down and we long for Fall, but one could argue that each season has its down side, and the heart is prone to yearn for whatever comes next. Lovely writing, artistry sib - congrats for the POTD! ~ John

True! And so lovely as you have so excellently selected summer’s iconic scenes. I love your “freckled sky!” P.s. I’ve had a horrid year health-wise, lacking the strength to tap-tap my keyboard after getting set the poems that came/mental ok, but body unable. Have truly missed you! & your poems! HUGS!

Dear Michelle, you've described the season of summer in such a sensational way. The images you paint are so vivid and creative. I completely agree, after enduring the sultry heat; a cooler temp is more than welcomed. I'm placing this in my favorites, to read again and again. Congratulations my sweet friend, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. :) Hugs, Brandy

Michelle--I appreciate how you captured the summer with your imagery. I like 'sticky glazed humidity,' for it reminds me of the humidity in my part of Texas. Like your poem, I love summer, but by August I'm ready for fall, weary of the blistering heat. Well written. Congrats on POTD
