The Ease and Comfort of Collapse of Caring Aka Vampyr Ii
Inspired by the lithograph/woodcut Vampyr II by Edvard Munch - Edvard produced several versions of the same image.
(Viewing art work will help make sense of the poem)
As the daylight dissipates
I return to the vision
That is burnt onto my brain
Never quite expelled from my thoughts
Each piece produced defies memory
Process un-recollected
My mind and body remaining unappeased
As I sink into the drøm
I scratch notes of the visceral
Rhapsodic emotion
I yield, succumb, give everything
So willingly
The ease and comfort
Of the collapse of caring
Enshrouded and grasped from reality
Quieted mind, still soul
Rest
The moment cannot be replicated
But plays out endlessly
Until it ends
And I am here
Striving to etch the vision to life
So that I may step inside
And be silent again
