~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Words spoken softly as leaves fall Quiet prayers, restore the light Reminiscing on dreams who call Wishing the soul a gentle night Autumn crunches beneath our feet Blessed by the harvest, still and bright Leaves dancing gently, so discreet Wishing the soul a gentle night Seasonal whispers, swaying psalms Worship yearning as winds excite Fragile memory always calms Wishing the soul a gentle night Autumn so brisk, glistening hues Falling like leaves who’re so polite Kissing the breathe without excuse Wishing the soul a gentle night
Repetition of the final line in each stanza is pleasing in meaning and rhythm Gina. Great rhyming as well! Congratulations! :)
Oh Autumn, so many people's favorite season,mine too. I've written about it as well and for years lived in Vermont. One can almost smell and see your poem. It was my favorite subject to teach when I taught kindergaten. It's a subject that lends itself to so many wonderful activities. It brought back lots of positive memories for me and I am so happy to have found it tonight.
