The Big Thirst

THE BIG THIRST Beer Barrel Polka Tea for Two and Two for Tea How I thirst for thee Me for you and you for me Those Bubbles in the Champagne Days when they could sing When words meant everything And tasteful drumming I fear these days it’s all noise No mystery and no poise

I;m afraid there is reason to thirst now as lyrics don;t seem important to most folks along with beautiful mysterious music as you say.... Mom used to sing songs around the house while working " ma he's making eyes at me" tea for two and Love and Marriage are just some that she taught me without realizing it while she was happily working like heck on the farm! Great memories Daver. thanks for the comment..yeah never thought of that ..it is a beatitude ..Cool

As a musician, you surely must feel this way, Daver. The "Beer Barrel Polka" was played at all of our families Polish weddings and I find a lot of today's music to be just "noise" as well. There are still some great singers, though, and musical artists as well. Often, they are those whose talents receive little recognition. Yesterday, I passed by an outdoor cafe and heard a lovely voice singing "Dust in the Wind." I had to poke my head in and smile at the singer. Love, Carolyn

So true, Daver. I am still editing chapter s3 and 4. Life just keeps getting in the way of my writing. We are having a heat wave here and I have been dragging 100 foot hoses day and night trying to keep the many, many tree on my property alive. pray for rain!!! Love, Lainie

Ah, I really like the metaphor that you used here, Daver-- I feel that way sometimes too with some of the music today, words definitely weigh in a lot --- now you got me singing Tea for Two in my head ;) ..."Picture you upon my knee..."

I do so totally agree Daver. We had music, they have noise. Even the drums have lost their beat. Let's all find an island and move out there and turn the clock back. The kids will never miss us. Good job here my friend. God Bless, JB
