The Autumn Wind
The wind races merrily across the ground,
Blowing the Autumn leaves all around;
Skimming over the rocks and nooks,
And chasing along the fast flowing brook.
Blowing the clouds across the sky,
It whispers and laughs with a gentle sigh,
As it playfully wraps my coat 'round my legs,
As I hurry inside for some bacon and eggs.
This morning the wind is a rascal for certain,
Whooshing right past me to ruffle the curtains,
Scattering leaves all over the floor,
As I quickly turn 'round to push shut the door.
Summer is gone and Winter draws nigh,
As Nature makes ready her bed with a sigh.
Fall is my favorite time of the year;
That is, of course until Christmas is near.
