That's Not Me
Your image of me's not one I can see.
The me I know and see has many flaws
I do my best with life's complexities
My imperfections show in my faux pas
To judge someone by standards I live by
How arrogant to think my way is right
I often look the other way and sigh.
Once I am judged by God, I'll be contrite
A knight in shiny armor I am not
More like a jester, some might say a fool
A fool who's learned that wisdom can't be taught
To those who think that they make all the rules
If only I could be the one you see
Unfortunately that would not be me.
