Thanksgiving Memory Contest Thanks
As I look up to all
Small in statue small I was
No food on the table
Nothing to eat this Thanksgiving Day
No television and no parades
Christmas was looking bleak
Holes in my pants cold at night
A knock on the door
Strangers are what I see
Holding a bounty of food to eat
Laughter and tears my family had
Deep emotions inside
Through the kindness of others
This thanksgiving dinner
Brought cheers of glee
So today I say thank you
To those strangers I never knew
(Based on a true story)
