Betty White died in 2021 at the age of 99. The stamp design was based on a 2010 photo.

Entered in Robert James Liguori's USPS Stamps contest on July7, 2025

To list all of Betty White’s accomplishments, besides The Golden Girls, I’d have to write a book. I’m thrilled that now, for just seventy-three cents, I can place her image on an envelope. Take a look! (Notes) Every blond hair is perfectly in place. As always, she wears a genuine smile. A hint of mischief graces her lovely face. White dots throughout complete a creative style. Now~~to the Golden Girls’ ROSE My highly critical father said you played one of “four dirty old women” on tv. The Golden Girl, Rose, you so aptly portrayed DID make comments as naughty as could be; but, as a total ditz, you made them innocently! You’ve made me laugh out loud night after night for decades~~the other three too, but YOU have always been my favorite. I still delight in your wild stories and your often clueless view. Thanks to reruns, I don’t have to tell you “adieu”!

Aren't they fun to watch from time to time. I am glad you chose this stamp about which to write. This work reads like a good contender to me. Way to go. Sara K

Janice, she was quite the character. We could tell she was having fun as an actress despite having to play a ditz. She delivered her lines with such innocence. Your poem captures it all really well. As far as I am concerned no negative comments. Maude might make one, but I certainly will not!!! Smiles!!

Janice, this one is so endearing! I believe it will be somewhere at the top. Who can tell which actors will rise like cream to the top, hold onto status even in old age. George Burns, too, but he has been gone awhile.

LOvely tribute - loved the show when they showed it over here. She was my favourite character - but I thought they were all great

Thanks so much, Jack. Yes, they ALL were great. It was as if the roles were created FOR them. Janice

Lovely poem about a lovely, and very funny, lady. She brought many a smile to my face and was one of my mother's favorites. Have a great weekend, Bill
