Tethered To a Moment

After all the long months waiting and planning, the day had arrived for you to meet me. It was a bright sunny day with a breeze in the air, a day filled with excitement was everywhere. Joy filled my heart and soul, I just could not wait a minute longer. The moment I first met you, it was amazing to see you face to face. Your little fingers and toes all in a row, a huge smile looking back at me. I now had someone very special, someone to call me mommy. My goodness, I wrote a poem with the same kind of feeling for my daughter, now 20 years old. When I first laid eyes on her she smiled at me. I've read your poem 3 times and each time it brings little happy tears. The love for your child is like no other kind of love, only mothers understand that. It's powerful, different and so special.
