Tear Drops

TEAR DROPS Oh, these young people! I know that I look like hell But I had my day One punk asked, “Were you born old?” “I was wrinkled as a babe Then grew beautiful” He tried so hard not to laugh Grabbed his mouth turned red I showed him a photograph Of my fiancé and me In those early days Days before we were married Looked like college kids We were dressed up for a dance I shed a tear for romance

a very creative and this one took me back a few years, it is such a warm hearted piece of poetry. thank you for reading Last Ride to the vets and for your comments. it was a very sad day for my daughter and me, we stayed in the room even after he died i took a lot of picutes that day. I am really sorry about your cat Puff'n Stuff that was a beautiful name, but man 17 years that must have really tore you apart. Have you written any poetry, it really helps to do so when you lose a pet.

ahhh, this is wonderful and nostalgic. I just want to cry when I see those old photos of me with a guy dressed up for a dance. I long for those times again. When I felt so fresh and free of the pains of growing old. Love this one. Andrea

Young people often don't realize that they will be old one day, too, Daver. Had a teen tell me my skin was "drying out" because I didn't eat enough cheese. (True!) I replied, "When I was a teen, I had pimples like you." Glad you had that photo handy to give this jerk a wakeup call! Love, Carolyn

Yes.....we all have our day in the sun...., so brief it is....somehow the twilight years appear before we even have a chance to get a proper tan, but for a minute, we may have a shining moment if we are lucky. Love this!
