Sweet Ponderings
Trees they sway, and rivers they flow-
Bees they buzz, and roots they grow-
Storms they rage, and boats they row-
So why on earth did you have to go?
On my way to the shores I saw you in black,
Dressed for a funeral with a lacy overlay-
I needed you then, you turned your back,
So now what am I supposed to say?
Clouds they swirl, and birds they sing-
Candles they burn, and melodies they ring-
Stairs they climb, and lies they sting-
So why won’t you tell me anything?
On my way to the cottage I saw you in white,
Dressed for a wedding with a lacy overlay-
You smiled so big and shined so bright,
So why on earth did you go away?
