Notes About The Poem

I Form - Imagism Poetry Contest

Sunset

"It is almost impossible to watch a sunset and not dream." – Bern Williams.
The spacious vales shimmered in crimson hues The tired, reddish-orange sun tinged the sky, As it yearned for rest and descend Into the darkening horizon below. There, the soothing river flowed, calm and serene. No boats sailed the tranquil, gentle waters. Some birds drifted on its current; others flew above. Not far away, a dilapidated bridge crossed From one side to the other, where a person Stood still, eyes fixed on the cerise horizon. Along the dark river bank, green trees Seemed to sway slightly in the light night breeze. A picture of calm portrayed the scene. And so, I painted and dreamed.

Hi Victor, your poems are soothing, breath taking and especially this one. Sunsets are over in the blink of an eye and dissappear over the horizon in a blazing hue I have watched Sunsets In the park with animals in the foreground And a sunset in Greece with ancient ruins all around me. Sunsets rule. Blessings Jennifer.

A beautiful poem transforming into a painting shows an overlapping of the senses. I love the sound of it to my ears, as well.

Every sunset is a visual treat. All your images, the sun preparing for rest, the crimson evening sky, the gently flowing river, the birds drifting over the current, the man standing alone on the bridge- all these stay distinct in vivid details. A poem creating such serene and peaceful vibes. A fine entry. All the Best dear Victor.

Great poem that captures a moment of tranquility at dusk, illustrating the beauty of nature as the day transitions to night. It reflects on the themes of peace, contemplation, and the passage of time. I also want to thank you so much for your support during my absence. Your Kindness is really appreciated.
