Sunlight
The sun has been a no show
for the most of several months.
He peeks out a bit to cheer us
then clouds come almost at once.
We’re worried about the pretty flowers
that should be coming through.
Without the sun’s encouragement
there will be very few.
We’re taking tons of Vitamin D
to protect from fragile bones.
It’s sunlight in a small bottle.
We only hope that it atones
For the lack of springtime sunshine
and old winter’s over-stay.
Neither my plants nor I will prosper
if the sunlight stays away.
Won 4th place
