Summer's End
I heard autumn's voice as it echoed that day
Telling summer it must end
Summer then sighed, and teary eyed, reluctantly went away
Colors of red and gold autumn did send
But the sun diminished in warmth
Telling summer it must end
Gone were the butterflies fluttering charms
they seemed to have flown away with the wind
As the sun diminished in warmth
The hummingbirds too were harder to find
They knew that summer was through
they also floated away with the wind
The trees mourned the loss of their leaves too
And the flowers could no longer abide
They knew that summer was through
I listened awhile as I stood outside
And I heard autumn's voice as it echoed that day
And when the flowers could no longer abide
Summer then sighed, and teary eyed, reluctantly went away
