With summer heat
you wonder why the heart is artic.
Cerulean days stand there in longing
but only fade to denim moods.
On indigo nights, soft eyes wander
through parks where navy planes
once sought aqua places to fight
Aegean Wars
as maya has become midnight
in the hardened mind of cobalt
crying Carolina tears
an independence from love’s intermittent pains.
Sapphire blues soon fade
to autumn azure afternoons
transcending cyan darkness to
electric October suns.
