'Puddles of pollen'.... this sounds other worldly. We are having Topaz rainfall in Kerala now. I can see only muddy puddles where as a poet like you sees puddles of pollen. This is Nature's way of pollination. With spring, these seeds will all germinate. Wonderful haiku. Congratulations on your top win.

Hi, Empress! Why does it not surprise me to see you in first place? The imagery you have created with "topaz rain" and "puddles of pollen" is sublime and indicative of your usual Empress flair and undeniable skill with words. This piece is truly inspiring. Congratulations.

An interesting haiku. Rain seems to make pollen allergies worse for me.

Petals in a puddle of tepid onyx rain do resemble the pattern of a pretty summer dress...J.A.B.

Amazing how the pollen can float like that isn't it. I like this one. I have been outside a good bit yesterday and today with the end results of having trouble breathing and runny nose at the same time. I should have stayed inside. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Sara K

Dear Robert, thank you! What inspired me to write this was a spring storm in somewhere yesterday which i saw on news! Unfortunately floods arent all pretty! But sure some prefer to read a puddle of buttlerflies!
