Spring Song
First song of the lark; how dulcet the sound.
How lovely are the green limbs of the trees
wherein small birds in nests might soon be found!
How fragrant is blooms’ scent upon the breeze
when winter has surrendered to spring’s charm.
How glorious is Resurrection’s dawn.
How wonderful to feel the sun turn warm
as Mother Nature dons lace and chiffon,
for she has shaken off her long gray shawl!
How hopeful we become; how glad are we
when rainbow hues instead of winter’s pall
above us in a clear blue sky we see!
There is no time as special on this earth
as when we can partake of its rebirth.
