Spring Fling

The tiny lawn flowers are so welcome -- Violets, dandelions, crocus remind of spring, In early warm weather they are so bold They don’t know it still can get awfully cold. March heralding the beginning of spring, Still holding possibilities of snow’s return, They push into the sun with little concern. Such happiness and hope the posies bring Neither of which in springtime will fold, The smiles they bring will never grow old. It’s time for everyone to throw a spring fling, All in all, this season of the year is awesome.

Indeed, they do. I always rejoice when I see my lawn become a field of violets. I remember picking them as a bouquet for my mom when I was little. She'd put them in water in a teacup.

I love your verso-rhyme. It works really well. I love the line They push into the sun with little concern :)

Thanks, Ann. I found that I was employing this format a long time before I realized I was doing it naturally. Now, when the occasion calls for it, I use it deliberately. Thanks again.

This is indeed a tough form that you have done with utmost perfection ! You have brought forth the idea that these early signs of spring may not last and can be interrupted with another bout of snow !

So true, too, Valsa. The weather where I live is very unpredictable, particularly in March.
