Spitters Are Quitters

Always salty and usually bitter
help encourage the spitter —
still better than the wonts
and those dreaded donts —
saved by the tolerable quitter.

As teenagers we thought spitting was cool, some of us also thought smoking was cool. Both terrible habits, wish I gave up smoking sooner than I gave up spitting. Hope you are well, Rob. Charlie

Creative work. I have heard it said that can't is the worst word in the English language. My mother always said, "Can't never could do anything." Thanks for your visit to my blog. I have done some updating. Sara

I liked "Can't" even back when it was not in the dictionary. My vote for the worst word in the English language would be "pulchritude".

I once thought it might be a good idea To ban the use of the Word (no) in the English language, in favor of something Longer.' Being as yes is longer, so why should It be easier to say an often negative word Than an often positive word ( and you didn't Think me politically correct.?) Anyway I wonder Now on the real consequences of such a move Maybe there is more intricate truth in its Existence than I once gave room for? Is that a Pertinent observation.? (Well it's only two letters long)

At first, I say dont limit the orchestra, but then, I remember 'a little leaven leavens the whole lump'. I would like to keep the Word and if we need to, we can say it is not the what, but the who and how they use it.

Like all good witticism, this clever limerick presents us with the truth. Well done, Rob! Happy New Year!

*Spitting* is a habit that many will never break. Disgusting indeed. Quitting in this case, makes them a winner. However, on the other side of the coin. Those that quit, will never succeed. ~ Brandy

In the early 2000s, I worked for quarry. I was a smoker back then, but there were a couple guys who chewed. They would complain about the cigarette smoke smell left in the cabins of the machines and I would complain about their disgusting spit cups.

Never understood why people spit. Seems unnecessary. Unless you're chewing tobacco which just makes it even worse. Yuck!! Have a great day.

I agree, it is totally unnecessary, but some still insist.
