Speech-Making

Please excuse my ignorance linguistic, My words may carry hints of the mystique In speech-making I am caught up a creek. Best responses are generally bleak -- So, I employ the lyrics of music, Which listeners accept as somewhat chic. Making speeches are hard wages to eke For success, I make bullet points unique See how rapidly, or slowly, I speak.

This was my first whack at a poem for Hilo Poet's latest contest. I didn't feel it worked quite right, so I wrote another one.

A grand effort on the new mono-rhyme form too. Your repeats would likely be counted as exclusions to the specs; but that doesn't disqualify it as a worthy poem, otherwise. I sing but I am petrified of public speaking.

Hi, Reason. I wrote this one as a practice exercise. It was not entered in a contest. I realized it had a rhyming flaw, which probably would have eliminated it from consideration. This form is not easy to do!
