Gloria
The meaning of her name is glory
A tremendous love for her family
Her appearance conveys success
She is loving and kind to all
Gloria is vivacious and spirited
She’s admired for her way with people
She is ambitious and most clever

A Sonnet For Gloria My mother’s eyes of ebony, sparkling stars Carefully, she paints her lips' gypsy red A cascade of flowing ringlets, her hair shines from afar Muscatels quaint flowers, she wore on her head Her costume; polka-dot, red and white To have spent more time with dance, her regrets Her smell unique, perfume is there more delight? With my small hands in hers she taught me castanets A spirited folklore, so well I know Flamenco music hath a far more pleasing sound I grant I never saw a goddess glow My mother, when she tapped, stomped the ground And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare As any revealed, beyond compare

Top notch to me.)))) I used to dance with castantets in eight grade. My Mom had lovely costumes made for me. Daddy kept the taps from my shoes. They are right in my living room, along with toe Shoes and ballet. Dance was always part of my life. I fell last November and broke my thigh in two pieces. My knee is full of metal parts . So after in home therapy, I can walk with a rollator, carefully. Dancing is verboten! A great tribute to your lovely Mom! Pangie

Hi Pangie, we both share love of music as well. Bossa Nova "Like a lover" Carlos Jobim "The girl from Ipanema" We danced the Argentine dances, with the boots and lassos and mini leather skirts. Greek, all very exciting! OPA!

Hi..being born and Fred in Chicago, dance, nalket and ethnic clubs frow like colorful flowers all over the city. So, when I got older~ what group wasn’t I around? Biggest thrill..at a Greek fesitival being the leader of a Greek line dance of over 100 dancers)) was in my glory. A dancer’s heaven. Glad you love dance with a passion. Dear Pangie, Thank you, and for your visit today. I admire your courage and perseverance in your healing process. Dance was a big part of my life as well, as you can see Flamenco and folklore with Ballet Folklorico de Esteban Coronado. Better therapies these days! Anaya

As the word 'Gloria' denotes glory, I assume that your mother too was glorious in many ways. In the picture she looks so beautiful in the polka dot dress. Talented in dance and music, you must have inherited some of her talents . A lovely tribute to your mother, dear Anaya.
