Sometimes Love Is Not Enough

I have prayed for you to find me like the trees need birds I have waited for your voice whispering to me Like the wind travels through the leafs on a tree My rings around me have become many waiting for your return How can I show my love to you without you? Our spirits once blended together with deep roots Digging into the soil with both our souls together Being watered by Gods hand our children grew This love we once had didn’t seem to be enough You have cut down my tree leaving only a stump My roots have become dormant and dry without you What once was has now become empty and alone I have no hand to clasp as I walk down this lonely road My bed is empty with only a pillow to hug Why wasn’t my love enough how can this be?
