There's a woman who eats Del Monte fruit Her plump cheeks are just so cute She has puffy short feet Dimpled ankles so neat But no longer fits in her new suit She was eating the sugar sweetened kind.... An example of a poem like I would like for my contest ..I know you can do so much better.

Tony, My mother served us many times with peaches, fresh strawberries and other fruits which she topped with Carnation milk whipped to make whipped cream. She could turn something ordinary into something extraordinary. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

SS, Find a good limerick on the internet. You can just type in Limerick poem examples and it will take you to some. Try to use the first line of a few as an example to get the rhythm of the poem. In my contest, you can use one of the three poetry forms listed to write your poem. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Famous grower Del Monte, though I prefer the Italians alpine apples. Quite a fun limerick. ~~

I didn't know Del Monte had canned fruit. We don't get them in Malta. I try to evade canned fruit anyway. I only eat fresh fruit. I know Del Monte well from its bananas, but for apples I rely of Italy.

Victor, Yes, Del Monte has wonderful canned goods. Canned goods in the winter help us to have the foods we love out of season. I do appreciate their goods. As long as I was able to put vegetables, fruits, pickles, and preserves away I did my own from the garden, vines, trees in our backyard but I am no longer able to do that. Thanks for stopping by. I like this, so simple yet says so much...I'm also a fan of Del Monte... I'm now beginning to see the dangers of sweet...especially sugar.

Arturo, They say that sugar is addictive and causes a host of problems but the high fructose corn syrup is even worse than sugar and it is in everything. Thank you for stopping by. I enjoyed reading your comment. Sara
