Snowflake, glistening
Quivering close to my lips
Fluttering mystery, so beautiful
Whimsical – a graceful wish
In hope, I stick out my tongue
Licking the wonder as it runs from the sun
Exposing its innocence and frailty
As it melts to a moist moment
There on the words that fight for
Whispers in the silence of my heart,
The grace that feeds my poetry
The making of a wish, indeed…
The snowflake’s gift to me – winter
Wonder, fascinating my thoughts
With frosty wisps of ashen insights
Gentling my dreams, this peace
Silences even the dark with its serenity
Soothing away the melancholy and reminding
My soul to listen to the stillness, the calm
Quieting the night as it pours out a storm
