Simple Pleasures
Simple pleasures, oh such treasures
When we really pause to think,
They are the strength of every day;
To stable joys, they are the link.
That morning coffee, sunny day,
A walk or run outdoors to see
The beauty of dear nature's face
In sky above, each bush and tree.
Then morning bath or shower brings
Refreshing feeling all day long.
Perhaps then off to work to know
Our skills are needed, we belong.
Soon lunch break with a friend or two
And later, with loved ones at home;
This sharing of our meals and talk...
A humankind of 'honeycomb'.
In evening hours, perhaps a book
Or taking in a movie, show,
Then off to comfort of our bed.
Such simple pleasures; these we know.
